De Bono Creativity & Innovation Week 2008
The Edward de Bono Foundation UK Centre for Serious Creativity & Constructive Thinking was opened by Dr. Edward de Bono, with a launch event at Manchester Metropolitan University's Crewe Campus, and a keynote session by delivered to over 100 guests on 11th November 2008. A week of events then took place involving four educational institutions in the Greater Manchester area during November 2008, linked to the "Smart City Futures" project. Introductions to the de Bono toolset led to facilitated sessions across the week, to identifiy the five major issues of concern for the city's future involving a cross section of the community.
Leadership and Culture for Lean Masterclass
Adrian West, Research Director presented a session entitled Creative and Parallel Thinking to improve Performance and Productivity at the Leadership and Culture for Lean Masterclass at The Manufacturing Institute, Manchester, on 24th September 2008.

In February 2008, Nigel Newman, Lifetime Master Trainer and Janet Newman, Headteacher, gave presentations at Skepsi, an annual conference held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates whose aim is to promote the teaching and learning of creative and critical thinking in education, based on the work of Edward de Bono. Nigel Newman gave two presentations on de Bono Thinking systems; Janet Newman presented on the topic of Integrating de Bono thinking methods into school curricula. Nigel Newman, Lifetime Master Trainer for the Foundation led three workshops at the North of England Excellence's "Inspiring Excellence 2008" Leadership Conference on 10th September 2008.
Nigel also presented a session on "Lateral Thinking for Business Success" at the Training Journal Conference and Awards in June 2008, and spoke at the Latitude Client Summit: Digial Renaissance & Revolution in Nov 2007.
