Opening of Foundation offices in Manchester, April 2007
The Foundation was delighted to be able to welcome Dr de Bono to its new UK office in Manchester on 17th April 2007. After formally opening the offices, Dr de Bono, pictured below with Foundation Chief Executive Robert Rawlinson, delighted an audience of invited business and education leaders with a stimulating and humourous presentation - with not a powerpoint slide in sight.
Dr Edward de Bono presented a phrenologist head to Robert Rawlinson for the opening of The Edward de Bono Foundation UK offices in Manchester.
The Edward de Bono Foundation UK is working closely with the Northwest Development Agency to improve thinking skills in the region and was able to facilitate the Agency in securing Dr de Bono as the keynote speaker at the official launch of its North West Science Strategy at Astra Zeneca's R&D HQ at Alderley Edge, Cheshire later that day.
"The north west has enormous potential as a region of flourishing economic activity, high quality public services and forward thinking education providers. This potential can only be achieved by increasing the teaching of constructive and creative thinking as a skill." said Dr. de Bono.
This event was hosted by Kirsty Wark the BBC Newsnight presenter and speakers included Alistair Darling ( now the Chancellor of the Exchequer), plus speakers from Rolls Royce, Astra Zeneca and Manchester University amongst others. More information can be found at the North West Development Agency.
