DATTŪ creates a framework for defining a situation and improving the ability to consider consequences before taking action. It will help you avoid bad decisions. Our current thinking is usually not wrong; it simply isn't targeted as well as it could be.

DATT® can help you and your organisation to plan, design, re-engineer, create or restructure products/systems and continually improve. It can also help you visibly improve performance, become a team leader, and accept new responsibility. Using DATT® your decisions will be effective and innovative in the least amount of time. Studies have proven that when people are specifically asked to use DATT® thinking tool their thinking dramatically improves (by as much as 300%).

Who should attend: Directors, executives, managers and professionals looking to improve their decision-making skills.

COURSE OUTLINE
Tool 1 - Consequences and Sequel

It is critical to look ahead to see the possible consequences of an action, plan, decision, or rule. You will see future repercussions and possibilities.

Tool 2 - Plus, Minus, Interesting
This tool will help you identify the positive and the negative plus the possibilities before it is too late.

Tool 3 - Recognise, Analyse, Divide
Break a larger concept or situation into more manageable parts. Getting to the "core" of a situation makes it easier to deal with.

Tool 4 - Consider All Factors
Explore all factors related to an action, decision, plan, judgement, or conclusion, not just the immediately obvious. Rarely do we deal with simple issues and rarely are they singular in dimension.

Tool 5 - Aims, Goals, Objectives
Focus directly and deliberately on the intention behind actions. You will prevent "drifting".

Tool 6 - Alternatives, Possibilities, Choices
Give yourself the benefit of alternatives; then you have choices.

Tool 7 - Other People's Views
Gain the power of broad vision by exploring what other people's (very different) perspectives might be.

Tool 8 - Key Values Involved
Your values powerfully influence your thinking. The whole point of thinking is to help us attain what we value. Make sure your actions fit your values.

Tool 9 - First Important Priorities
Priorities guide your actions, choices and decisions. Get the right things done - target deliberately what is most important and what must be done first.

Tool 10 - Design/Decision, Outcome, Channels, Action
Direct attention to the outcome of thinking and the actions that follow. You will be confident in implementing your decisions.

“Almost all errors of thinking are errors of perception. In real life logical errors are quite rare. If your perception is limited then flawless logic will give you an incorrect answer.”
